From the article: How to Repair Ball Marks
Repairing ball marks is an important part of taking care of the golf courses we play. But how often do golfers actually fix their own pitch marks? How often do you fix your ball marks? All the time? Ninety-percent, 75-percent, 50-percent, 20-percent of the time? Never? It's true confession time: Give your answer, and also your explanation if you fail to always repair your ball marks. Remember, you don't have to use your real name, so be honest. Confession is good for the soul (but fixing those ball marks is better for the greens!). Confess!
Always
- Always, plus any others found. It is only proper to do everything to help maintain the condition of the course.

Fix'em Right
- I always repair mine and many more. First lesson I taught my kids about golf was on the putting green and how to repair ball marks properly! I caddy at a major course and if my loop doesn't know how to repair them, I simply tell him I'll take care of them. It's not rocket science, and it improves the game!

Always.....and more, if seen
- There is always time to fix a ball mark. Yours and others. It only takes a few seconds. You can do it while waiting for your turn to putt (as long as you don't bother any of your partners); as everyone is surveying their putts; as you walk up to your ball; etc. It's only common courtesy and decency. If everyone actually repaired ball marks as much as they claimed, greens would be in much better condition.

Always. Without exception
- The people who don't fix their ball marks are the same people that don't wash after wiping. (that's right, I went there)

Don't and won't
- Pay massive greens fees so they could at least repair for me !!!

Ball Mark Repair
- As the Head Golf Professional at Christman's Windham House in New York, I am sure we are not the only golf course that is cursed with unrepaired ball marks at a very high level. When my students or friends go out to play I challenge them on the first tee to see who can find and fix the most ball marks in a round. Last season I personally averaged 68 ball marks per 18 holes. Please people, fix your own marks - my back is killing me!

do you repair ball marks
- I repair ball marks on every green everytime. Sometimes the group that I'm playing with doesn't so I try to make up for them by repairing marks as I'm waiting my turn to putt.

mine and more
- I have a tool I got at '88 PGA. Surprised I haven't lost it but its showing the wear of over 20 years.

I fix mine and others too...
- I always repair mine, and repair others that have not been repaired. It's just the right thing to do for your club, and other players that come behind you.

Ballmark Repair
- As long as I can find it, everytime I make a mark. And, if I can't find mine, I will fix another.

Every darned time...
- ...mine plus one more. My dad taught me you always leave a green in better shape than you found it. It's just common courtesy. Hey, isn't it fun when you get to the green and it's in nice shape?

Never...
- ...but then I've only played one round so far and never hit anything more than a chip onto a green. When I do eventually make one I intend to repair it.

shame on not repairing pitch marks
- There is nothing more infuriating that lining up a birdie putt, and having an old deep pitch mark that is almost beyond repair. When I walk onto the green, I will spend at least a minute walking around repairing plug holes that other golfers dont repair.

Think?
- I do it because the next golfer may have the chance to make an all-time good score only to have it ruined by a ballmark left by someone having the worst game of their lives.
