The golf bag can be cheap and basic, expensive and luxurious, or anywhere in-between. And the golf is certainly important - difficult to get your clubs around the course without one, after all.

Depends on 1 factor.

I have a Titleist Staff bag, not vinyl it is a very tough and durable cloth-like material for when I take a cart and a Pine Mountain carry bag, it has the built in stand and one big long pocket for rain suit etc. and 2 small ones for glove, tees, balls, etc. also very light and nice looking as well. I think it's Pine Mountain it's something mountain for sure.

Lots of pockets - especially for a drink

I want lots of pockets to stay organized. Definitely need a pocket to hold a water bottle; like tee holders on the outside of the bag; also like my putter on the outside of the bag; enough compartments to keep my clubs organized; need an easily accessible pocket for snacks (doesn't need to be insulated); the bag I have now has a velcro swatch to hold my glove. I really like that.

Small and light

I personally look for one that's small with a pocket for balls and tees and at least three partitions for the clubs. My current bag is a vintage leather bag handed down to me by my uncle. It's very very thin and is a bright red all over.

Cheap golf bag!

I mostly walk, so I don't need anything fancy - just a small, light bag with a pocket for balls and a pocket for rain gear. So when I look for a new bag, I'm mostly looking at pricing and for a color scheme that I like.
