The end of one year is always a time to talk about goals for the next year. So that's what we'd like to hear here: Your goals in the game of golf for 2011. Could be a score you hope to shoot, new clubs you want to buy; could be improving a particular part of your game, or simply playing more often; maybe it's to enjoy the game more, to get less upset by bad shots; or, of course, your golf goals could focus on untold number of other things. So: What are your goals in the game of golf for 2011?

Reduce my Handicap
- I promise to reduce my handicap this New Year, at least by 1. Being a 9 Handicapper, that's not easy. And also because age is catching up ...

Get in more games
- I just invested in a couple of sets of irons - Adams a7Os and a7's - so this year I plan to be out and playing instead of adding to my golf club collection. I am hoping to work up to mid-handicapper by playing a lot more and there is a new golf course in our area - an 18 hole course - that invites me to play!

Golf in Thailand !
- I have been taking teams out to Thailand now for around 7/8 yrs. to work with displaced and vulnerable people groups (www.handsworld.org). We work hard with the needy and then play hard on the golf courses. Until you've played in Thailand ...... you haven't played - constant sunshine, caddies to explain the hole, find your balls (which is often for me) and thrusting bottles of bubbly into your hand to keep your liquid levels up! I want to take more people to this wonderful land in 2011 - to work and play - and enjoy golf like they've never done before!

Get my girls into the game
- I have twin 6-year-old daughters who so far have enjoyed riding in the golf cart with me but haven't actually gotten into playing the game yet. They do have an interest, though, enjoy swinging their plastic toy clubs, and if they want to - I hope they do - I'm going to step them up into the real game in 2011. Remember, Dads -- always keep the focus on fun.

play more, play better
- Not exactly an original response, but I sure do hope to play more often in 2011 -- and to play better. Those two things tend to go hand-in-hand. I once shot in the 70s on a regular basis, but you get a little older (and a little fatter) and don't play as much and those scores start to creep up. Didn't break 80 all of 2010. But I vow to get into the 70s again in 2011.
