How my tip will help:

This tip will help the average golfer avoid making extra shots by being short sided.

Here's my tip:

When a flagstick is tucked to one side or well to the back or front of the green, you need to use some caution. If you go after this pin placement, you will run the risk of being "short sided," or leaving little green to use should you miss it to the side nearest the hole. This makes for a difficult up and down.

When you have a pin that is close to the edge, aim away from it so that you will be on the "fat" side of the green. You will have other opportunities in your round to go after pins. Just don't fall for this trap.

Advice

  • Use caution on pins that are tucked.
