Cedar Creek is a municipal course in San Antonio. So you'll be surprised at how fantastic this layout is. But, alas, you won't be surprised at the conditioning problems, particularly on the greens.
It's a shame that the greens are so spotty, with turf issues, major problems on a few greens, minor problems on many. Because the layout is gorgeous, with holes running through valleys between hills in the foothills of the Texas Hill Country on the northwest edge of San Antonio. Very pretty setting, dramatic holes, great shot value, some very challenging holes, too. Lots of fun to play Cedar Creek when it's in good shape, which, unfortunately, isn't all that often.
If you can overlook those condition problems - or just "condition" yourself to accept them and not get upset by them - then you'll really enjoy Cedar Creek. If this course was in top shape, it would rival any course in San Antonio - and for much cheaper.
But also note because the course is challenging the pace of play here can be very slow on busy days.

Probably the first. You start off from an elevated tee box, so your very first tee shot of the day is down into a valley and you get the sensation that you're hitting the ball a mile. Just don't go right or you'll be in the trees.
