Name of driver:Cleveland Classic 290 driver
How much I paid:£190
I am a 7-handicap golfer who is not bad off the tee (for a 7), but felt my Taylormade Burner 09 driver was in need of replacing. I picked up the Cleveland Classic 290 model recently, it has 9-degrees of loft and the stock 43s 51g stiff shaft, and after an hour on the range ventured out onto the course very very excited. The look is just fantastic, it breads confidence and let's you concentrate on the shot ahead rather than the shape of the driver head. Then bang - a smooth swing is followed by a rocket. Now I hit it on average 230 + 10 roll. This club puts it out there 230 but with 30 roll. A 20-yard gain and on top of that a dispersion that has halved at least on the range and course. You can't compliment the look enough, it's just perfect. The headcover is also spot on. A great touch of nostalgia. Bottom line is. If you're in the market for a new big stick, give this one a go. I bet more like the results than don't! Long may this love affair continue.
