Golf Tools Pro App Focuses on Club Selection, Alignment Aid

Name of app:

Golf Tools Pro app

Purpose of app:

Club Selection & Stance Alignment

My Review

I first downloaded the free "Lite" version of Golf Tools Pro app and was sufficiently persuaded to buy the $5 "Pro" version. App was quite innovative actually, both tools (club selection and stance alignment) seem to be quite uncommon.

The first is an "Alignment Aid" that allows you to pick a target through the camera. You then move the camera over your feet and look at your feet with the direction to the target shown as an arrow. You can also open or close your stance. I use this tool on the driving range a lot but not really on the golf course.

Second part of the app is a club selector. This works really well where you enter the distance of your shot and the required club is recommended. This is where I bought the Pro version as it allows you to customise the list of clubs and their yardages - very good.

My mobile device/OS are

iPhone 4

Cost of app and approximate date of download

Free for Lite version and $5 for Pro version

What I like best about this app

The club selector is now used every time I play. A good GPS is built in, too, but I haven't reviewed it here.

Quirky little bridge appears on the club selector - developers with a sense of humour?

Also club selector shows you how you could/should play longer holes.

What I liked least about this app

Not much really - alignment Aid camera has frozen once but restarting the app fixed that.

Would you recommend this to a friend?

Yes
