Also new is the name of the tournament in Sylvania, Ohio, which has always been known (in some form) as the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic. Entertainer Farr is no longer affiliated with the event, but a new title sponsor results in the Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning & 0-I name.
This year also begins the era of five major championships on the LPGA. Joining the Kraft Nabisco Championship, Wegmans LPGA Championship, U.S. Women's Open and Women's British Open in 2013 is the Evian Championship. The Evian is an existing tournament elevated to major status. The Women's British Open takes place in 2013 at The Old Course.
