2013 European Tour Schedule

The 2013 European Tour schedule of tournaments begins in December 2012 in Africa and concludes in November 2013 in Asia. Tournaments in Africa plus the "Desert Swing" events in the Persian Gulf region dominate the early part of the docket, with visits to India, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia, the USA, Morocco, Bulgaria, Turkey and more dotted throughout.

And, of course, there are the traditional European Tour stops in Western Europe and the UK - although not nearly as many as there used to be.

At the time of the schedule's release (late November 2012), 45 tournaments were included, although not all of them at the time yet had courses or even cities finalized. There were also three weeks on the schedule listed as TBA (the tour plans to play on those dates, but is working on finalizing details). The schedule below will be updated as that missing info becomes available.

  • The season-ending DP World Tour Championship is the climax of the Race to Dubai, which, beginning with the 2013 European Tour Schedule, is preceded by "The Final Series." The Final Series is a slate of three tournaments leading up to the finale - the tournaments are the BMW Masters, the WGC-HSBC Champions and the Turkish Open.

European Tour members who want to qualify for the DP World Tour Championship finale (and its bonus pool of money) must play at least two of the three Final Series events. Euro Tour members who play all three of the Final Series tournament get a 20-percent points bonus in Race to Dubai points going into the season-ender.

  • The European Tour made it easier for the game's top stars to gain tour membership in 2013. Beginning with 2013, the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup and Vivendi Seve Trophy - the three biggest team vs. team events in men's golf - count toward the minimum number of 13 tour events that tour members must play to maintain membership.
