2012 PGA Tour Schedule

By , About.com Guide

The 2012 PGA Tour schedule includes 45 official money tournaments, plus two unofficial money tournaments in Asia late in the year. Of those 45, 37 are "regular season" events in the FedEx Cup race; four are "playoff" tournaments; and four are Fall Series events.

There are two new title sponsors on the 2012 PGA Tour schedule: What was formerly called the Bob Hope Classic is now the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation; and what was The Heritage is now the RBC Heritage. Notes on the 2012 PGA Tour Schedule
A couple things to point out:

  • The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic (Oct. 18-21) and WGC HSBC Champions (No. 1-4) tournaments are unofficial money events. Earnings in those tournaments do not count toward the PGA Tour money list.

  • The FedEx Cup "regular season" encompasses 37 tournaments and concludes on Aug. 19 at the Wyndham Championship.

  • The FedEx Cup "playoffs" begin with The Barclays on Aug. 23 and conclude at the Tour Championship on Sept. 23. The four playoff tournaments are played over five weeks, with a week off prior to the Tour Championship.

  • The Fall Series begins on Oct. 4 in Las Vegas, following an off week. (The 2011 Ryder Cup takes place during the off week.) There are four tournaments in the Fall Series. The first three are played over the first three weeks of October, then the Tour breaks for two weeks for the Asian unofficial money events, then the Fall Series concludes the PGA Tour schedule at the Children's Miracle Network Classic on Nov. 11.
