Question: Why does Tiger Woods always wear red shirts in final rounds of tournaments?
Answer: Tiger Woods always wears a red shirt (or, at least, a shirt containing lots of red) in the final rounds of tournaments. Why?
Because his mother told him to.
In 2009, in the "Dear Tiger" section of his Web site (in which he responds to fans' questions), Woods explained his red shirts this way:
"I wear red on Sundays because my mom thinks that that's my power color, and you know you should always listen to your mom."Woods began wearing red in final rounds after turning professional in 1996. Red is a color associated with aggressiveness, and many over the years have psychoanalyzed Tiger's choice of red. I'm 100-percent confident Woods would have exactly the same number of wins even if he wore pink or baby blue every Sunday.
It should also be noted that red is the color of the athletic teams at Woods' alma mater, Stanford University.
