What are Tiger Woods' earnings annually throughout his career? Just how much money does he make every year? That question is easy to answer when we focus only on his earnings on the golf course. All we have to do is look at the PGA Tour money list going back to his rookie season of 1996.

Here are Tiger Woods' earnings on the PGA Tour each year of his career:

Tiger Woods' PGA Tour Earnings

  • 1996: $790,594
  • 1997: $2,066,833
  • 1998: $1,841,117
  • 1999: $6,616,585
  • 2000: $9,188,321
  • 2001: $5,687,777
  • 2002: $6,912,625
  • 2003: $6,673,413
  • 2004: $5,365,472
  • 2005: $10,628,024
  • 2006: $9,941,563
  • 2007: $10,867,052
  • 2008: $5,775,000
  • 2009: $10,508,163
  • 2010: $1,294,765
  • 2011: $660,238
  • 2012: $6,133,158
  • 2013: $8,553,439

Of course, Woods occasionally plays golf outside the USPGA Tour. From 2003-2011, a "world money list" was compiled on PGATour.com, which combined golfers' earnings across all the world tours. For an idea of how Tiger's totals rose when including non-PGA Tour money, here are his "world money list" totals in those years:

Tiger Woods on the World Money List

  • 2003: $6,700,288
  • 2004: $5,819,407
  • 2005: $11,515,939
  • 2006: $11,141,827
  • 2007: $11,002,706
  • 2008: $6,196,717
  • 2009: $10,948,054
  • 2010: $2,154,516
  • 2011: $1,940,238

The "world money list" totals do not include any appearance fees Woods might have received for non-USPGA Tour tournaments, but any such fees would boost Woods' on-course earnings further.

But the other component of Tiger's income is his off-course earnings: income from endorsements, from his course design business, licensing fees, corporate outings and appearances, investment income, and so on. Luckily for us, the magazine Golf Digest has annually, beginning in 2003, compiled what it calls the "Golf Digest 50." The GD50 combines a golfer's on-course income with his or her estimated off-course income (estimated after much research and many interviews conducted by Golf Digest).

Golf Digest 50: Tiger Woods' Total Annual Earnings

  • 2003: $83,700,288
  • 2004: $89,370,407
  • 2005: $86,992,739
  • 2006: $98,941,827
  • 2007: $122,702,706
  • 2008: $117,337,626
  • 2009: $121,915,196
  • 2010: $74,294,116
  • 2011: $64,067,059
  • 2012: $86,124,386
  • 2013: $83,091,508
