VanderLende also played collegiately at Florida, finishing as individual runner-up in the 2003 NCAA Women's Golf Championship. After college, and following the death of her father, who was her coach, VanderLende stepped away from competition to work at a golf club. But she returned to competition in 2008 on the Futures Tour, where her best finish was fifth.
