Liz first took a liking to golf at the tender age of 5 while "just hanging out" with her adoptive dad at their local club during the summer. She pursued golf as a child while working for five years as an acrobatic circus performer in her native St. Louis. This history earned her the nickname "Carney" among her fellow "Big Break III" contestants. Once she transitioned into the world of junior golf, she became a two-time medalist at the Missouri Junior Amateur Championship, as well as a 1996 Missouri State High School Activities Association medalist. While competing at Southern Illinois University, Liz was a two-time member of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship team. She hopes to win "The Big Break III" to avoid the pressures of LPGA Q-School. Liz lists her grandfather - a retired Major in the U.S. Army - as her hero and is grateful for his willingness to defend and serve his country. A self-proclaimed "homebody," Liz loves spending time with her family and enjoying the great outdoors, including hunting and fishing.
