As a two-time winner on the West Coast Ladies Tour, Debbie is no stranger to winning - even though she didn't pick up the game until age 28. Debbie grew up playing all sports - except golf - and has always considered herself competitive and just "one of the guys." She played college basketball at Palomar College and the University of California at San Diego, and swears that if she had a club in her hand at an early age instead of a basketball, she would now be playing on the LPGA Tour. Since discovering golf, she has immersed herself in the game by working as a television spotter for various broadcast network golf telecasts. She also has caddied so many times for celebrities at charitable events - including Smokey Robinson, Vince Gill and Johnny Bench - that other caddies started calling her "Celeb Deb." She enjoyed her first amateur win at the 1997 Oceanside City Championship, and later took first place at the Long Beach City Championship in 1999 and the Los Angeles City Amateur in 2000. Debbie is proud of the fact that she has not only been able to compete with, but also win against other professionals half her age who have been playing their whole lives. She would be thrilled to be the first 41-year-old rookie on the LPGA Tour, but if golf doesnt work out, she can always "face the music" and focus on the success of her DJ company in the San Diego area.
