More About Bridget Dwyer:

A native of Hawaii, Dwyer exudes the natural "cool persona" of the 50th state. She didn't really pick up golf until high school, where she played on the boys' team.

Although she was tempted to go to Notre Dame, Bridget accepted a golf scholarship to UCLA because she loved the campus and was closer to home. She was a three-time National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar selection and was voted Most Inspirational Athlete at UCLA in 2004. In addition, she was a two-time Academic All-American with a major in Economics and minor in Japanese.

The UCLA golf team wasn't ranked in the top-50 programs her freshman year but they won the NCAA championships her senior season. A key to the rebuilding effort was players had to qualify in practice to represent the Bruins in tournaments. Bridget feels that the weekly pressure made her a better player.

While in college, she would go to breakfast in the same restaurant as legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden and would occasionally converse with the "Wizard of Westwood."

Earlier in 2006 on the Duramed Futures Tour she fired a final-round 66 to finish tied for sixth, both lows for her on the developmental circuit. A focused and driven individual, she strives to live her motto: "Act like a champion in all you do."
