More About Ashley Prange: Ashley had a club in her hand at the age of 2, which is not surprising given that her father and three of her uncles are teaching professionals. Although she started competing seriously at age 12, she says she didn't start to enjoy golf until she was in high school. She played extensively in AJGA events around the country and was recruited by several colleges. She chose the University of North Carolina because of the school's reputation in academics and its great golf practice facilities.

An Advertising and Sports Marketing major, she earned All-Conference honors in her sophomore, junior and senior years, and won her first collegiate event as a junior, playing against the best from 15 other schools. That year, she also was named NCAA All-American Honorable Mention. In her senior year, Ashley captured two victories and was named NCAA First Team All American.

She started as a rookie on the Futures Tour in February 2005, and finished her first year 46th on the money list and made 15 of 18 cuts, with two top 10s. She also made it to the final stage of the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in November.
