Team USA defeated Team International by three points, 18.5 to 15.5, at the 2013 Presidents Cup, but the final margin doesn't reflect the USA's true edge.

The Americans had a 6-point lead entering singles play, 14-8. That meant they virtually wrapped up the victory before singles ever began. The Internationals won the singles session to make the final score appear more respectable. As it turned out, the clinching point for Team USA was won by Tiger Woods, who beat Richard Sterne, 1-up, in the ninth singles match.

The victory gave the USA an 8-1-1 overall lead in the Presidents Cup series.

The Internationals trailed by only a point after the first two sessions, but in the 10 foursomes matches scheduled for Day 3 (and completed on the morning of Day 4 due to weather delays), the U.S. team earned 7.5 of the available 10 points to pull away.
