The 2019 Presidents Cup was the 13th time the Presidents Cup was played. It pits teams of professional male golfers representing the United States against an International side. With its victory, Team USA took an all-time lead in the series of 11 wins to one win by the International side, with one tie.

Team Captains

There was some major star power in the captain's chair for the 2019 Presidents Cup: Tiger Woods for Team USA and Ernie Els for Team International. The two friends and rivals were longtime players in this event. For each of them, it was his first time serving as team captain (although both had experience as assistant captains).

Woods also took the step of playing in the competition. He was the first player-captain since Hale Irwin for Team USA in the 1994 tournament.
