2005 Presidents Cup

Two years after the 2003 Presidents Cup ended with the teams "sharing" the label of winners, Team USA took back sole possession of the trophy at the 2005 Presidents Cup. Chris DiMarco, Jim Furyk and Phil Mickelson were the catalysts, each going unbeaten for the American side.

The match was close all four days, neither side winning a session by more than one point. So at the end of Day 3, heading into the Day 4 singles, it was tied 11-11.

Justin Leonard and David Toms won the first two singles matches of the final day for Team USA before Retief Goosen - who went 4-0-1 - knocked off Tiger Woods for the first International point in singles. The singles advantage from that point was the Americans', and the U.S. side finished with the 3-point victory.
