Question: Who Has Served as Ryder Cup Captain Most Times?
Answer: Walter Hagen and Dai Reese share the record with five captaincies each. Hagen was the U.S. captain in each of the first five Ryder Cup competitions played (1927, 1929, 1931, 1933 and 1935). Rees captained the Great Britain team four straight times - 1955, 1957, 1959, 1961 - and then once more in 1967.
