Here is the list of the youngest golfers to win one of the men's major championships:

  • Young Tom Morris*: 1868 British Open, 17 years 5 months 8 days
  • John J. McDermott: 1911 U.S. Open, 19 years, 10 months, 14 days old
  • Gene Sarazen: 1922 PGA Championship, 20 years, 5 months, 22 days
The youngest golfer to win The Masters was Tiger Woods, who was 21 years, 3 months, 14 days old when he won in 1997.

*Morris also won in 1869 and 1870 and was younger than McDermott in each of those years, too. Sarazen also won the U.S. Open in 1922, whe he was 20.
