Youngest Golfer to Make the Cut in a Men's Major Championship

PGA Tour Records: Youngest to Make Cut in Major

By Brent Kelley, About.com

A 17-year old is the youngest to make the cut in a men's major.

The golfer was Tommy Jacobs. The tournament was the 1952 Masters. Jacobs was 17 years, 1 month, 22 days old when he made the cut.

Jacobs finished 60th that year, shooting 79-81-77-79 for a 28-over total of 316. But he went on to play in The Masters seven more times, although not again until 1959.

In fact, Jabocs finished second in the 1966 Masters.
