Most Top 10 Finishes in One Year

PGA Tour Records: Most Top 10s in One Year

By , About.com Guide

The record for most top-10 finishes in one season on the PGA Tour was set in 1945 by Harold "Jug" McSpaden. Jug McSpaden finished in the Top 10 31 times that year.

That was the year Byron Nelson was winning 18 times total, and McSpaden set another record that year: most runner-up finishes (13).

McSpaden's record seems one of the safest in golf. Nobody even plays in 31 tournaments a year anymore, much less finishes in the Top 10 in that many. For the sake of comparison, the most Top 10s Phil Mickelson has had in a single season is 13. The most Top 10s in one season for Jack Nicklaus, 17; for Arnold Palmer, 20; for Tom Watson, 17.
