Best LPGA Tour Season Scoring Averages

LPGA Tour Records: Lowest Scoring Averages

By Brent Kelley, About.com

Annika Sorenstam was the first LPGA golfer to break 70 in season scoring average. These are all the sub-70 scoring average seasons on the LPGA Tour, starting with the lowest:

  • 68.6970* - Annika Sorenstam, 2004
  • 68.6974 - Annika Sorenstam, 2002
  • 69.0167* - Annika Sorenstam, 2003
  • 69.2360 - Lorena Ochoa, 2006
  • 69.3286 - Annika Sorenstam, 2005
  • 69.5205 - Annika Sorenstam, 2001
  • 69.4333 - Karrie Webb, 1999
  • 69.6853 - Lorena Ochoa, 2007
  • 69.6857 - Se Ri Pak, 2001
  • 68.8209 - Annika Sorenstam, 2006
  • 69.8452 - Se Ri Pak, 2002
  • 69.9870 - Annika Sorenstam, 1998
  • 69.9882 - Grace Park, 2004

*Note: Sorenstam did not win the Vare Trophy, awarded to the season scoring champion, in years marked with the asterisk because she did not meet the 70-round minimum requirement in those years. However, the LPGA Tour recognizes her scoring averages in these years in this category in its record book. She also did not meet the requirement in 2006, but that distinction is moot since Ochoa won the Vare Trophy that year with a lower average.
