Most Consecutive Birdies in a PGA Tour Tournament

PGA Tour Records: Most Birdies in a Row

The record for most consecutive birdies in a PGA Tour event is nine, and several others have recorded eight straight.

• Mark Calcavecchia, 2009 RBC Canadian Open (second round, 65)

• Bob Goalby, 1961 St. Petersburg Open (final round, 65)
• Fuzzy Zoeller, 1976 Quad Cities Open (first round, 63)
• Dewey Arnette, 1987 Buick Open (first round, 65)
• Edward Fryatt, 2000 Doral-Ryder Open (second round, 69)
• J.P. Hayes, 2002 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic (first round, 65)
• Jerry Kelly, 2003 Las Vegas Invitational (third round, 65)
• Chris Stroud, 2011 Mayakoba Golf Classic (second round, 63)

Goalby and Zoeller are the only ones on the list who went on to win the event. Arnette finished 47th, Fryatt tied for ninth, Hayes tied for 16th, Kelly tied for ninth, and Stroud tied for fourth. The recordholder, Calcavecchia, tied for eighth.

Also note that two other golfers have carded 8-hole streaks of sub-par holes, both involving seven birdies and one eagle:

• Billy Mayfair, 2001 Buick Open, final round
• Briny Baird, 2003 FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort, second round
