Lowest Stroke Total in Back-to-Back Rounds

PGA Tour Records: Best Back-to-Back Rounds

By , About.com Guide

What are the best combined scores over two consecutive rounds in PGA Tour history? Here are the lowest stroke totals for back-to-back rounds on the PGA Tour:

122

  • Troy Matteson (61-61), Rounds 2-3, 2009 Frys.com Open

123

  • Steve Stricker (61-62), Rounds 3-4, 2009 Bob Hope Classic

124

  • Mark Calcavecchia (60-64), Rounds 2-3, 2001 Phoenix Open
  • Pat Perez (61-63), Rounds 1-2, 2009 Bob Hope Classic
  • Stuart Appleby (65-59), Rounds 3-4, 2010 Greenbrier Classic
  • David Toms (62-62), Rounds 1-2, 2011 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial

125
The number of golfers posting 125 in back-to-back rounds is now in double digits. But the golfer who did it first was Gay Brewer, who carded 64-61 in Rounds 2-3 at the 1967 Pensacola Open. It took 11 years before anyone matched Brewer's score, and 34 years before anyone bettered it.
