About the Farmers Insurance Open:
Brandt Snedeker won the title, beating Kyle Stanley on the second hole of a playoff. Both players finished at 16-under 272, but Stanley blew a 3-stroke lead with one hole to play. On the 72nd hole, needing a double-bogey or better to win, Stanley put a ball into the water and wound up with a triple bogey. That dropped him into a playoff with Snedeker, and Snedeker won with a par on the second extra hole.
2011 Tournament
Bubba Watson shot a final-round 67 - with a great recovery shot and birdie on the final hole - to win by one over Phil Mickelson and Jhonny Vegas. It was Watson's second career win on the PGA Tour.

Farmers Insurance Open - Trivia and Notes:
- Tiger Woods has six wins in the event, and Phil Mickelson is the only other golfer to win more than twice.
- Hall of Famer Gene Littler is the only golfer to win the tournament as an amateur, doing so in 1954. Littler, a San Diego native, never won as a pro - although he was runnerup three times (1969, 1974, 1978).
- One of the most memorable years in the tournament's history was 1982, when Johnny Miller outdueled Jack Nicklaus to win by one stroke over the Golden Bear.
- Tiger Woods (2005-08) won the tournament four straight years. J.C. Snead (1975-76) and Phil Mickelson (2000-01) won back-to-back.
