About the PGA Tour Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial:
This tournament became known as the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in 2007. It has traditionally be refered to as "The Colonial" by players and fans alike, and "Colonial" - from its host course, Colonial Country Club - has always been part of its official name. Ben Hogan was always associated with The Colonial, and served as a sort of unofficial host until his death in 1997.2009 Tournament
Steve Stricker defeated Tim Clark and Steve Marino in a playoff to win for the first time in two years. All three finished regulation at 17-under 263. Stricker birdied the second playoff hole to secure the victory.
2008 Tournament
Phil Mickelson birdied the final hole to win by one stroke over Rod Pampling and Tim Clark. Mickelson finished at 14-under 266. His birdie followed a terrific approach over and around trees and out of the rough.
