It's easy to forget that Creamer was only 23 years old at the time of the 2010 U.S. Women's Open. It seemed as if she had been around forever, given that she first arrived on the national scene by playing as an amateur in a handful of LPGA events when she was 17. Creamer turned pro at age 18 and almost immediately became one of the best players on tour.
After her victory at Oakmont, Creamer had nine LPGA Tour victories and one major championship victory. She overcame recent injuries and she overcame a few failures at majors in her past. And at age 23, Creamer seemed poised for continued improvement.
