How would Paula Creamer handle being the third-round leader at the 2010 U.S. Women's Open? Creamer had three times earlier in her career started the final round of a major in a position to win, and all three times she blew up:
  • 2008 U.S. Women's Open: Started final round in second, one behind, shot 78, finished tied for sixth
  • 2007 LPGA Championship: Started final round in second, one behind, shot 78, tied for 15th
  • U.S. Women's Open: Started final round in second, one behind, shot 79, tied for 19th
Those earlier collapses had something in common: Creamer started one stroke behind in each. Was she pressing in those tournaments trying to make up ground? Was she just too young to handle the pressure?

Creamer had a chance at the 2010 U.S. Women's Open to put those previous failures behind her. Because at Oakmont, she didn't go into the final round one behind, but three ahead.
