But the 2010 season started badly for Creamer, who reaggravated a thumb injury in the LPGA Tour's season opener. She underwent surgery and missed several months of play, returning to action only a few weeks prior to the U.S. Women's Open.
In her first tournament back in action following the surgery, Creamer finished in the Top 10. But then she placed 42nd in the next, and missed the cut the week before the Open.
Creamer got off to a good start in the first round at Oakmont, though, shooting 1-over 72, good for a tie for eighth after the first day.
