The du Maurier Classic was an LPGA major from 1979-2000. It was also played from 1973-78 under a different name (La Canadienne), and continues to be played today as the Canadian Women's Open. In 2001 the du Maurier Classic was dropped as an LPGA major and replaced by the Women's British Open.
The du Maurier was played in Canada each year. From 1979 through 1983, it was known as the Peter Jackson Classic.
