| 1992 Masters | |
The 1992 Masters is best-remembered for one particular moment: The moment that Fred Couples' golf ball came to rest on an embankment fronting the 12th green during the final round.
Couples' tee ball to the picturesque par-3 came up short, and the ball seemed certain to roll back down into the water of Rae's Creek. But then it ... stopped. And settled in a tiny flat spot on the embankment. Couples was able to save par and went on to win by two strokes over Raymond Floyd.
Floyd was 49-years-old at this Masters, and had he won he would have become the oldest major championship winner ever. As it was, he had to settle for being the oldest-ever runner-up in The Masters.
