Gene Sarazen took the Round 1 lead with a 70, and never trailed in winning the 1932 British Open. Sarazen led by three after the second round, four after the third round and won by five with a then-record score of 283.
It was Sarazen's only British Open victory, and the fifth of his seven wins in professional majors. He also won the 1932 U.S. Open this year.
The 1932 British Open was the only played at Prince's Golf Club in Sandwich, England, a course that is adjacent to the more famous Royal St. George's.
