What is the U.S. Open Scoring Record in Relation to Par?

By , About.com Guide

Question: What is the U.S. Open Scoring Record in Relation to Par?
Answer: The record for lowest score in relation to par is 12-under, set by Tiger Woods in 2000 at Pebble Beach. That performance by Woods is one of four times a golfer has posted the record-low stroke total of 272, but in relation to par it's four strokes better than any other golfer has ever done.

While Tiger's record is 12-under, second place on this list is all the way back at 8-under par.
