The colorful Texan earned his first Masters win in 1940. He won again in 1947, and for the third time in 1950. His Masters victories were Demaret's only major championship wins. Demaret's first win was by four shots over Lloyd Mangrum. In 1950, he shot a final-round 69 to win by two over Jim Ferrier. His 1947 win was Demaret's finest. That year he became the first golfer to post four sub-par rounds during The Masters. He also joined Horton Smith and Byron Nelson as the (then) only two-time winners of the event.
