Question: Who was First Golfer to Win British Open Two, Three and Four Times?
Answer: We combined these three onto the same page because the answer is the same for all three questions. Old Tom Morris was the first golfer to win the British Open twice, the first to win it three times, and the first to win it four times. Old Tom's wins were in 1861, 1862, 1864 and 1867.
Morris Sr. and Willie Park Sr. won six of the first seven British Opens plays, with three wins each after Park's 1866 victory. Morris then broke their tie with his 1867 win.
Young Tom Morris followed his father's 1867 victory with four straight wins of his own, and Park Sr. eventually won his fourth in 1875. But Old Tom got there first to each of these tournament milestones.
