Quick Tips for Hitting a Draw

Here are some quick tips for golfers who want to be able to draw the ball. Note: This is written from the perspective of right-handed golfers. Lefties should reverse the directional elements in the text below.

These quick tips are from instructor Roger Gunn of GolfLevels.com.

Ball Flight Description
The draw is a quality shot where the ball moves slightly right-to-left toward the target. The ball should not move past the target to the left.

Draw Quick Tips

There are two good ways to play a draw:

• 1. Aim the clubface at your target. Aim your body, including feet and shoulders, to the right of the target. This will create a slightly glancing blow, putting counter-clockwise spin on the ball. Make a normal swing along your body-line with no effort to alter your swing.

• 2. Aim your feet, shoulders and clubface to the right of the target. In the swing, get a slight feeling of rolling the club through impact. Look for a slight turn of the ball to the left.
