Taylor Made Golf

By Brent Kelley, About.com Guide

Definition: "Taylor Made Golf" refers to the Carlsbad, Calif.-based golf equipment manufacturer that is one of the most popular brands in the golf world.

"Taylor Made Golf" is actually a misspelling, however. The correctly spelled name of the company is "TaylorMade Golf," no space between the "Taylor" and the "Made." However, according to some Web search statistics, the misspelling is actually more common than the correct spelling - at least among those searching the Web for the company or its products.

The TaylorMade company was founded in 1979 and is known as the manufacturer that introduced metal woods to the golf marketplace.

For much more on TaylorMade, including more company history, company contact info, and news and reviews of company products, see our TaylorMade Golf page.

Also Known As: The company is more properly called TaylorMade-adidas Golf, and is a subsidiary of the adidas Group.
Common Misspellings: As noted above, "Taylor Made Golf" is the misspelling; the correct spelling is "TaylorMade," one word, capital "M."
