Grass Bunker

By , About.com Guide

Definition: A grass bunker is a depression on the golf course that is filled with grass (usually in the form of thick rough) rather than sand. Grass bunkers are not considered hazards under the rules. So, for example, grounding a club - which is not allowed in a sand bunker - is OK in a grass bunker.
