Definition: Fescue is a type of grass found on golf courses. Fescue is usually found in the second cut of rough or beyond. It is a sturdy grass that turns golden and can grow three feet high. Fescue is sometimes, but rarely, used as the fairway grass (such as at Whistling Straits). Fescue is most common on golf courses that are in coastal regions of the U.S. and Great Britain.
