Definition: An elevated green is one that is elevated, natch, higher than its surrounding area. That is, the sides of the green slope upward to a putting surface that is higher than its surrounds. A green that sits higher than the landing area in the fairway of its holes (i.e., a green to which you'll have to hit an uphill approach shot) can also be called an elevated green. Most elevated greens are elevated just a couple feet, but some may be 10-15 feet higher, at the extreme, than their immediate surrounds.
