The above image of Sandra Gal was taken in 2008 during a photo shoot prior to the Safeway International tournament.
The year 2008 was Gal's rookie season on the LPGA Tour. She earned her tour card by going through Q-School at the end of 2007. Prior to that Gal was a successful collegiate golfer at the University of Florida and one of the top-ranked amateur women golfers in Europe.
Her first three seasons on the LPGA were solid but unspectacular. Then Gal, a native of Germany, broke through for her first victory at the 2011 LPGA Kia Classic.
