"Oakmont introduces its famous Church Pews bunker at the short uphill par-4, 428-yard third hole. One of golf's most famous bunkers is bisected by a dozen parallel grassy rows and blankets the left side of the landing area. Avoiding the sandy expanse and its neighbors to the right of the fairway leaves the golfer a relatively straightforward uphill shot to a relatively benign putting surface."
