Why Warmup Exercises?

Many golfers simply skip golf warmup exercises before we tee off, and those that do are making a big mistake. I suppose they save a little time and are able to sleep in longer, but that's the only upside to skipping stretching.

If you are a golfer who wants to be ready on the first tee to shoot par, then you'll need to do some simple golf warmup exercises to prime your golf muscles.

Dynamic golf stretches are the key to preparing your golf muscles to perform. "Dynamic" means movement, so you will not be doing any holding (static) stretches for your golf warmup.

The important areas to warm up for golf are your lower back, hamstrings, shoulders and hips. These golf-specific areas are what enable you to make a fluid swing with minimal effort, improving consistency and accuracy.

On the following two pages are two examples of effective golf warmup exercises that are simple and easy to perform.
