The 909 drivers have a blind bore hosel design, all titanium, which allows for more custom shaft options. The design also saves weight, which can be repositioned lower and deeper in the swingweight screw.
And speaking of that swingweight screw, it is a factory-installed Surefit swingweight screw that allows for improved balance between the shaft and clubhead, and helps, as mentioned above, lower and deepen the center-of-gravity position.
Says Titleist: "The Surefit Swingweight Screw options in the SureFit System and allows the fitter to better match the headweight to the club length and shaft balance point during the fitting process."
The stock shafts in the 909DComp are the Titleist Matrix Ozik XCon-5 (62g) and XCon-6 (66g). The XCon-5, with a medium-soft tip and mid-low flex point, is engineered to help produce a medium-high trajectory. The tip-stiff, mid-high flex point XCon-6 is designed for a medium trajectory.
In the 909D2 and 909D3 drivers, the Titleist Aldila Voodoo (72 grams, 3.3 torque, medium-stiff tip, mid-high flex point) and Titleist Diamana Blue 65 (65 grams, medium tip, mid flex point) are the stock shafts. Both are designed for a medium trajectory. (next page)
