Contemporary style with modern technology - that's how adidas touts the Tour360 line. Tour460 3.0 shoes will be offered in medium and wide widths and a choice of three color schemes: running white/black/victory red, black/black/metallic silver and running white/running white/black. More color options will be added early in 2009.
See the three black bands on the shoe above? Those represent the "360Wrap," a proprietary adidas Golf technology. The company describes its function thusly: "... a visible technology that surrounds the midfoot area to promote enhanced upper stability, a glove-like fit and increased leverage."
Those bands wrap below and around the sole and up the other side of the shoes - three-dimensional molding, or "3D fit," as adidas puts it - to "hug" the midfoot and provide extra security.
A "3D fit" is also the aim of the "Heel Cup" molding, inspired by cycling shoes, to "lock" the heel in place and eliminate heel slippage.
The one-piece sole utilizes "ThinTech," a approach that keeps the sole thinner and closer to the ground, providing, the company says, both a more solid, stable base plus improved feedback.
The adidas Tour360 3.0 golf shoes become available at retailers on Sept. 1, 2008, with an MSRP of $180. Visit www.adidasgolf.com for more info.
