Power-Blade

There's a whole sub-genre within the training aids category of trainers that seek to help the golfer add power by adding resistance to the swing. It's another way of going at the weighted club. Add resistance - rather than weight - to a club (or something club-like), and the golfer will build a faster swing, leading to more power.

Something fan-like is the usual course for resistance "clubs." GP Golf Innovations, the company behind the Swing-Tempo, is launching the Power-Blade in early June. The big difference with the Power-Blade is that, while it takes the fan approach to produce resistance, this is one that clips onto the golfer's own clubs.

You don't have to swing someone else's version of what a golf club feels like. The Power-Blade securely clips to the shaft of your golf club, but with built-in protection measures to ensure no damage is done to that shaft.

The Power-Blade comes in its own carrying case, which is designed to fit into your golf bag.

The Power-Blade will retail for $59.95 and be in select retail stores beginning June 15, 2008.
