Incorporated into the clubhead in the 2008 models are Cobra's Frequency Tuning ribs, designed to make the clubhead produce upon striking the ball a clear, crisp sound, as opposed to the "thud" or "bonk" of many oversized geometric drivers.
The F model of the Speed LD Driver comes in 9.5 and 10.5 degrees, geared to golfers with swing speeds of 87-108 mph; the M model is geared to swing speeds of 76-97 mph. The M is available in various lofts with an Offset version, Seniors and Women's versions.
Also new for 2008 are the Speed LD Fairway Metals, which boast a deeper center of gravity (compared to prior models), with a shallow face and increased crown slope to promote a higher trajectory and greater forgiveness.
The 2008 Cobra Speed LD drivers carry an MSRP of $375 and began shipping March 7. The 2008 Cobra Speed LD Fairway Metals carry a suggested retail price of $225 each and began shipping March 6. Visit cobragolf.com for more info, or compare prices for Cobra equipment.
